Many countries of the world have the rule of law to ascertain justice and fairness. The United Nations Organization founded after World War II also has its rule of law for international affairs. Many law firms perceive the rule of law to be the laws that express the intent of the people. In a democratic society, no one is above any other person. That is, there is no superior person before the law. Thus, the representatives of the people, that is the legislature, are those who amend the laws. They ensure that the will of the people is achieved through the provisions of the U.S. Constitution.

As a system based on simple majority rule, the principles of the rule of law are critical in upholding the rights of everyone. The Bill of Rights was passed based on the concept of individual liberty. That is, an individual must enjoy the liberty of speech, choice of religion, equal treatment before the law, and due process that are Constitutional. Without the Bill of Rights, the idea of natural laws and the feature of liberty as humans will be denied.

Rule of law is therefore a principle in which everyone; including entities and institutions, are accountable to the law. As a democratic country that adheres to the principles of law, the court is the highest upholder of justice. There are different courts in the United States of America. These courts hear the opinions and grievances of both minority and majority groups. They ensure that the right of a citizen isn’t infringed upon intentionally or unintentionally. They also ensure that justice and peace are achieved to be enjoyed by the collective.

On a broader scope, the principles of the rule of law are established to achieve international peace. It involves the complex weaving of social, political, and economic development of the international system. Thus, these laws do not only govern people. In the international scope, it governs states and state actors, humans, organizations, and entities, to enforce the principles of natural law.
